The International Medical Innovation and Cooperation Forum (China-Shanghai Cooperation Organization) unveiled on the 27th in Fangchenggang, Guangxi, China.
This forum is hosted by the Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation Commission of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the People ’s Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and organized by Beijing Peace Tour Cultural Exchange Center, Foreign Affairs Office of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Health Committee of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Fangchenggang Municipal People ’s Government.
This is the first time for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization states to take medical innovation and cooperation as the theme to benefit the health, humanity and civilization for more than 3 billion people around the world. It is also a concrete action to boost and practice the "Shanghai Spirit" and implement the consensus of the Heads of States during SCO Qingdao Summit, and a pragmatic measure to promote high-quality health and medical cooperation.
More than 800 officials, experts and scholars from Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states, observer states, dialogue partners, SCO Secretariat, as well as 21 countries and organizations including Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia, and Ukraine attended the opening ceremony.
According to the hosts, the Forum focuses on health, cooperation, innovation, and sharing. The sub-forum discusses five topics including public security and emergency rescue, medical and health policies, orthopedics, preventional treatment of chronic diseases, and smart medical treatment.
Officials, experts and scholars attending this meeting believe that the Forum will promote the Shanghai Cooperation Organization to actively explore the elimination of policies as well as technical, trade and institutional barriers in the field of medical cooperation, so as to promote the a community of common health for mankind, build cooperative platform for pharmaceutical companies, medical institutions and scientific research academies, and boost the further cooperation, innovation and development for relevant countries and regions.
