During the ceremony, the three artists donated a collaborative painting “Fan Xin Si Jin” (flowers blooming like a piece of brocade) to the City Government of Lier to thank them for supporting the event!

Chinese paintings and Belgian oil paintings were exhibited together at the Monastery in the ancient city of Lier, Belgium from the 9th to the 28th. This exhibition of Chinese and Belgian artists entitled “Combination” showed visitors with 40 works by 3 Chinese painters and 20 works by a late Belgian painter.

Chinese artists include Dean of Wuhu Painting Academy Wang Guang, who is good at tiger paintings, Honorary Dean of Yangzhou Chinese Painting Academy Gu Yang who is specialized in painting flowers and birds, and Ma Jun, who used to work at the Academy of Fine Art of Dunhuang Research Institute and is famous for combining Chinese and Western techniques to depict the scenery of Western China. The three Chinese artists are distinctive in characteristics. Lode de Maeyer, the representative of Belgium, is a late contemporary scenery and portrait painter, who led a simple and low-profile life.

At the opening ceremony of the exhibition, Paul Voblake, who has worked as a painting reviewer for more than 30 years at the Antwerp Museum in Belgium, gave a professional and objective evaluation on the works of Chinese painters. He thought that Chinese painters used unique techniques and were good at creating an atmosphere. Chinese traditional paintings have a tradition of everlasting time; while Belgian painters' works are more inclined to express their inner feelings to the outside world symbolically. The works of different painters reflected the complexity of human emotions, but at the same time also reproduce the essence of nature and society.

The three artists presented a collaborative painting “Fan Xin Si Jin” (flowers blooming like a piece of brocade) to the Lier Municipal Government
