On the afternoon of May 8, former President of Kyrgyzstan Otunbayeva led a delegation of seven to Tongxiang Office of Peace Tour Cultural Exchange Center, accompanied by Vice President of Chinese People’s Institute of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Peng Keyu and Chairman of Tongxiang Committee of CPPCC Chi Xiaoming. Representative of Peace Tour received the delegation, and the two sides negotiated on economic and cultural cooperation.
After the meeting, entrusted by Peace Tour Secretary General Mr. Shao Changchun, representative of Peace Tour Cultural Exchange Center presented a violin made by Mr. Shao Changchun himself. Otunbayeva and the delegation also watched with interest the art creation of the Honorary Dean of Yangzhou Chinese Painting Academy Gu Yang and the famous painter Zheng Yanfeng, and took a group photo with the two artists.
During the meeting, local fur dealers also exchanged ideas with former President of Kyrgyzstan Otunbayeva regarding economic cooperation.
Otunbayeva graduated from Moscow State University, and served as a senior professor and head of the Department of Philosophy at the Kyrgyz National University for 6 years. She was the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan. From June 27, 2010 to December 31, 2011, she was the President of Kyrgyzstan in its transition period.
