Yuan Zhengyang, born in 1955, enlisted in 1971 and graduated from the Art Department of the School of Military Culture, National Defense University of the people's Liberation Army of China in 1986.
He has won the Bronze Award of the Seventh National Art Exhibition, the Second Prize of the Third National Serial Picture Award, the Excellent Work of the 60th Anniversary of the National Art Exhibition, etc., and was selected in the Sixth National Art Exhibition, the First and Second China Oil Painting Exhibition, and the Centennial Exhibition of Chinese Oil Painting Portrait Art.
His works are collected by institutions including China Art Museum and Military Museum of the Chinese People's Revolution. In 2004 and 2005, he participated in the First Beijing Annual Exhibition of Realistic Painting School and the 2005 Annual Exhibition of the Chinese Realistic Painting School.
