Ma Wei is a member of China Artists Association, a national first-level artist, a full-time painter of Qiqihar Painting and Calligraphy Academy, Vice Chairman of Qiqihar City Artists Association, Visiting Professor of Uzbekistan Academy of Arts and Sciences and Honorary Member of Kazakhstan Artists Association. In 2000, she was enrolled in the Flower and Bird Teaching Assistant Class and Postgraduate Course of the Chinese Painting Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts. Her works have been awarded and selected in various exhibitions held by the China Artists Association, and have been exhibited abroad as Chinese representative as well as presented to foreign governments and foreigners. Her works have been published in major domestic academic journals. She has published more than ten kinds of personal painting collections. Many of her works have been collected by the General Office of the State Council and major museums.

Her major academic activities are listed as follows,

In June 2012, she participated in the “Amity” International Painting Exhibition, one of the series activities of the SCO Beijing Summit organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which unveiled in the Great Hall of the People.

In November 2011, she has been on an art inspection to France, Italy, Vatican and other countries with a delegation of famous Chinese artists.

In July 2011, she held an exhibition with Peace Tour in Astana Art Museum in Kazakhstan.

In March 2001, she participated in the “Chinese Painting, Painting China” Three-Person Art Exhibition held in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The Exhibition was a complete success. The State Council Information Office of the People's Republic of China, the website of the Ministry of Culture of the People's Republic of China, the China Art Weekly, New York Times and other media also made special reports.

In November 2010, her work “Banna Series” was selected into the Love for Empty-Nest Elderly of China Artists Association at the National Art Museum of China.

In June 2009, her work “Colorful Jiangnan” won the Outstanding Work Award in the 60th Anniversary of the Founding of the PRC – Exhibition by Members of the China Artists Association organized by the China Artists Association.

In October 2008, her work “Taste of the Rainforest” was specially invited to the Fourteenth National Flower and Bird Painting Exhibition.

In June 2008, she participated in the “2008 National Invitational Exhibition of Chinese Painting Academic Works" organized by the China Artists Association at the National Art Museum of China with her works “Red Bamboo” and “Love for Maple Forest”.

In December 2007, her work “Banna Scenery” was selected in the National Exhibition of Chinese Painting 2007 organized by the China Artists Association.

In December 2006, her work “Water Town in the Dream” was selected in the National Urban Landscape Exhibition organized by the China Artists Association.

In September 2006, her series works of “Dream” was selected in the Nineteenth New Artists and New Works Exhibition. In May 2006, her work “Love for Hometown” was selected in the Sixth National Traditional Chinese Realistic Painting Exhibition. Both Exhibition were held by the China Artists Association.

In November 2005, her work “Shuo Guo” (Ripe Fruits/Great Accomplishments) won the “Outstanding Work” in the First Exhibition of Freehand Chinese Paintings organized by the China Artists Association.

In August 2005, the work “Xi Ru Ren Sheng” (Life as a Drama) was selected in the Fifth Contemporary Chinese Painting Exhibition.

In April 2005, her work “Da Ye Xun Hua” (Looking for Flowers in the Wild) was selected in the Second Exhibition of the Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Academy, and won the title of A Hundred Outstanding Calligraphers and Painters.
