On June 15, with the support of UNESCO, the “Red Wine, Art and Peace” International Art Exhibition, hosted by the Saint Emilion Municipal Government of France and the Sino-Europe Culture and Education Foundation, co-organized by Beijing Peace Tour Cultural Exchange Center, was successfully ended in Saint Emilion, France. President of the UNESCO General Assembly and Deputy Education Minister of China Hao Ping, Mayor of Saint Emilion Bernard Lorry, and President of Sino-Europe Culture and Education Foundation and Director General of Beijing Peace Tour Cultural Exchange Center Shao Changchun attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.

As the first Chinese painting exhibition held in the Saint-Emilion, the prestigious wine city, this exhibition showcased more than 60 paintings by 10 contemporary Chinese painters including Fan Yang, Liu Shengyu, Gu Zong and Jiang Shiguo, and 4 Central Asian painters. The paintings, with distinct characteristics and diverse themes, received enthusiastic response and unanimous praise from local people who loves art and oriental culture as well as people from all walks of life.

After the opening ceremony, Saint-Emilion Lourade Wine Association held a grand ceremony at the Rolling Stone Cathedral, and conferred the Jurade de Saint-Émilion to Head of delegation and Vice President of Chinese Painting Department of the China National Academy of Painting Fan Yang, in recognition of his achievements in the field of painting and the contributions he has made to the art exchanges between China and Europe over the years. In this ancient ceremony with a history of hundreds of years, Fan Yang said excitedly that China and France are inextricably linked in the field of painting. As a representative artist, he is honored to receive this honor in the tide of cultural exchange between China and France.
