“Diverse Culture, Shared Destiny” - International Painting Exhibition of Artists for Peace from Ancient Civilizations Held in Bishkek

Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan and a major post on the ancient Silk Road, was lined with green trees in midsummer, with squares, sculptures, fountains and gardens making the city extra beautiful. “Diverse Culture, Shared Destiny” - International Painting Exhibition of Artists for Peace from Ancient Civilizations, co-organized by the Government of Kyrgyzstan, International Union of Artists for Peace, Silk Road Peace Award Foundation and Beijing Peace Tour Cultural Exchange Center, was held here, which added a strong artistic flavor to this beautiful city.

At the opening ceremony of Exhibition, held at the Kyrgyz National Museum of Fine Arts in Bishkek on June 29, Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Omurbekova pointed out in her speech that the painting exhibition of artists from all over the world reflects the culture and spiritual world of different nationalities, which will further enhance the friendship between the people of all countries in the world. She also extended appreciation to the artists of all countries for this wonderful exhibition for the people in Kyrgyzstan.

“This art exhibition will not only enhance the understanding between artists and ordinary people of various countries, but also promote the development and progress of art.” In his speech, Wu Changhong, the Charge D'affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Kyrgyzstan, stated that this exhibition is an important fruit of cultural exchange and cooperation in relevant countries. In-depth exchanges of painting experiences among artists from different countries will inspire each other's creation and bring their hearts closer.

The painting exhibition showcased 72 paintings by 39 artists from 23 countries including China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Iran, and Italy. At the scene, the reporter saw that the paintings brought by Chinese artists were particularly intriguing. Both traditional ink paintings such as far-reaching mountains and rivers, serene flowers and birds, spring rain with strong impression of ink and oil paintings about snow scenes in villages and dawn in the jungles have attracted many audiences to enjoy, who took out their mobile phones to take pictures of their favorite paintings, and scrambled to take pictures with the artist.

Chinese artist Tang Chuanjie participated with his painting “Summer Lotus Blossom”. He introduced to the reporter that the main feature of this piece of work is the organic combination of Impressionism in Western oil painting with traditional Chinese freehand painting. He hoped to bring the beauty to the audience through the combination of Eastern and Western cultures, while convey the spirit of lotus - peace and holiness.

Russian artist Artukova has participated in such a large-scale exhibition for the third time. “Artists from many countries around the world gather together. We become friends, and express the idea of peace through our works.” she said.

At the opening ceremony, Omurbekova, representing the Kyrgyz government, also conferred the International Artist for Peace Award to Chinese artist Fan Yang, Kyrgyz artist Shikaev, Russian artist Smirnov and other artists.

Kyrgyz President Jeenbekov met with Shao Changchun, President of International Union of Artists for Peace and Director General of Beijing Peace Tour Cultural Exchange Center, along with the award-winning artsits. Jeenbekov stressed that this was a feast of culture. Kyrgyz people highly appreciated the artists for their contribution to the peace and friendship of all nations. He also stated that International Union of Artists for Peace has promoted the connection and blend of different cultures as well as the friendship and brotherhood of the nations.

Shao Changchun said in an interview with our reporter that this art exhibition is to promote cultural exchanges, increase mutual trust and deepen the cooperation among countries along the Silk Road. “Diverse Culture, Shared Destiny” is the theme of this event, and also the voice of all peace-loving artists. “I hope this event will make a positive contribution to promoting cultural exchanges among countries and protecting world peace.”
